Goodwill shops are located in most cities, and are wonderful places to find clothing, furniture, books, shoes, and knick-knacks for the entire family. If you want to replenish your wardrobe, take a field trip over to Goodwill to see what they have. The items are stocked daily with new things coming in all the time. From evening gowns to winter coats, from tank tops to pajamas, you will have more than enough to choose from. Goodwill Industries are listed in the Business White Pages of your phone book.
Go to Goodwill with an open mind. You may be searching for the perfect pair of black pants, and you may indeed find them there, but be open to finding other things as well. Everything at Goodwill is displayed by color and style. All blue jeans are put together. All tops, dresses, pants, and skirts are separated by color. If you are looking for a white short sleeved shirt, it is easy to find where it is located.
Check labels. You will be surprised how many Old Navy, Gap, Anne Klein, and Levis are available, as well as other popular brands. Often you will find items that are brand new or gently worn. Always check for rips, tears, or stains. If a dressing room is available, take advantage of it.
The more often you visit Goodwill, the more treasures you will find. Shirts are 99 cents to $3.99 depending on style. Pants and jeans are usually around $5.99, and dresses are in the $7.99 range. A couture gown valued at hundreds of dollars could be yours for under $20.
With the selection and prices that Goodwill Industries has to offer, you can change your look often. Many people take a tour of the mall to see the styles that are popular, and then recreate the look with items found at Goodwill. Because Goodwill is a charity, sales tax is not added to your purchase, and if you keep your receipt, it is also a tax write-off.
Donate back to Goodwill the clothes that you no longer wear. You never know who will need what has been sitting in your closet.
