How to Freeze Someone Out of Your Life
This sounds so much worse than it is, but often there is someone in your life that inflicts too much pain or requires too much work to keep things going the way they are. This process does not necessarily mean the person will be gone forever (though that has been known to happen), but at the very least the energy will change to make your life easier and the relationship better.
First, identify if there is someone in your life that you really need to either change the nature of your relationship, or get away from completely. Remember, that by doing this does not mean you will never talk to the person again (though it has been known to happen), but it will cause a shift that will make your life easier.
Write the person's name on a strip of brown paper bag.
Fold up the strip and put it in a film cannister or wrap it in aluminum foil. If you use a film cannister, fill it with water and put the cap on. If you don't have a film cannister, the aluminum foil works just as well.
Place it in the back of your freezer, and forget it about it. If you want to take a moment to wish the person well, that is fine, too. By "freezing" the person out, you have taken a major step towards changing the dynamic between the two of you without harsh or hurtful words.
