Art Project of the Month Club
Based on Harriette Knight's book EASY ART FROM THE HEART
Each month an Art Project from the book will be featured so you and your children can experience spending time together and exploring the magical world of creativity. Read the rhyme and share it with your kids. Then collect all the materials and have some fun!
"I showed my son the book and he said "Wow!" I read the rhyme about the Nature Walk and he said "Wow!" He just kept saying "Wow!" We set the time aside to do the project. He can't wait! Thank you for such a wonderful book."

LIONS AND LAMBS
March roars in like a lion, and goes out like a lamb.
What fun we can have with this seasonal plan.
Paper plates make wonderful masks,
and a 'Lion King' theme is not one to pass.
First of all, mix up some glue,
with paint that's tan from a bottle or tube.
Food coloring works best in an orange tone,
so always check what you have at home.
Brush the color all over the plate,
and get ready to stick pieces on the face.
Buttons for eyes, and felt for a nose,
and a mane full of yarn around the plate it goes.
Don't forget whiskers on this wonderful mask,
then hang on the wall, and watch the kids bask.
Even the little ones enjoy this one,
as they let out a roar for a job well done.
To follow this theme, we must make a lamb.
All soft and sweet and easy to plan.
Out of posterboard that's usually white,
cut out a lamb about 8 inches high.
Get out the glue, and brush it galore,
then stick on some cotton, NO! Not on the floor!
Cover your lamb in cotton balls soft,
then tie a blue ribbon around the neck, of course.
Set the lamb up for everyone to see
that springtime is here. Glory be!
