How to Clean, Clear, and Recharge Your Gemstone Jewelry

It is important to remember that gemstones are alive, and absorb energy that needs to be cleaned, cleared, and recharged so that you can reap the full benefits of the stones. All gemstones have healing qualities and attributes that work more efficiently when they are clean. Just like an air filter must be kept free of dirt and grime so your car can run smoother, gemstones must also be cleared of negativity in order to serve you best. Here are some ways to keep your precious gemstones such as amethyst, garnet, rose quartz, and moonstone recharged and clear.

Your gemstones can feel everything that you feel; physically and emotionally. They work as little shock absorbers so that you can remain balanced and calm. If they are not cleaned, cleared, or recharged, they can become clogged which can make you feel sluggish or irritable. One of the easiest methods for clearing your gemstone jewelry is to put it in the sun for a few hours. The sun will recharge the crystals and gemstones to perfection.

Some people wear their gemstone jewelry all the time without considering that it might be hindering their development instead of encouraging them to move forward in their lives. Gemstones are powerful energy centers and need to be rid of old issues such as anger or depression. Get a bowl of water and sea salt and soak your gemstones in the solution. You will notice a huge difference in yourself the next time you wear your gemstone jewelry, and your gems will sparkle brightly.

A combination of soaking your gemstones in sea salt and water and then drying them in the sun is a perfect antidote to negative energy in your gemstone jewelry. Make sure that your gemstone jewelry is authentic. Some gemstones look like gemstones, but are man-made, so you don't want to run the risk of damaging your pieces. If you are unsure whether your stones are real or man-made, you can clean and clear them by putting them in the freezer for 24 hours. This will freeze out anything negative.

Putting your gemstones under a New Moon will open the way for new beginnings. Add a candle to the ritual and be clear on what you want. Your gemstones will hold the charge for you, and help you to attain your goals. Putting your gemstones under a full moon is good for completion and letting go of what no longer serves you.

Remember that your gemstones are alive with energy and want to serve you in the perfect way, so always include some words of gratitude for their service when doing any of the suggested ways for cleaning and clearing. An example would be, "Thank you for supporting my journey. It is time to release all negative influences. May only positive energy and goodness be present today and always."
