This is a wonderful meditation for opening up any blockages in the flow of the chakras. As you read the meditation, simply focus on the area of the body that corresponds to the chakra, and continue to move up or down as the meditation instructs. You will notice the flow of energy increasing with ease as you progress. This is a great exercise to do in a group.

For easy reference, the chakras are located in the following areas:

1^st Chakra - The root chakra is located at the base of your spine.
2^nd Chakra - The sacral chakra is located about 2 inches below your belly button.
3^rd Chakra - The naval chakra rules your life force, and is located in the solar plexus.
4^th Chakra - The heart chakra is found in the center of your chest.
5^th Chakra - The throat chakra rules communication and is found in your throat area.
6^th Chakra - The third eye chakra is in the center of your forehead.
7^th Chakra - The crown chakra is located at the top of your head and above.

You can also focus on the corresponding color of the chakra as you move up and down during your meditation.

For easy reference, the corresponding colors are:

1^st Chakra - Red
2^nd Chakra - Orange
3^rd Chakra - Yellow
4^th Chakra - Green
5^th Chakra - Blue
6^th Chakra - Indigo
7^th Chakra - Purple or White

Begin your meditation by relaxing in a seated position. Breathe in through your nose, and out through your nose. Using the 4/4 Breath, (breathe in, two, three, four, and breathe out, two three, four), you will begin to relax.  After three or four rounds of breath, begin the meditation when ready. You will notice that each line corresponds to the chakra as it moves up and down and back up again.

Begin with the 1^st chakra and move up.
Say or read the following words.

I am connected to the earth.
I am a creative being.
My life force is strong.
My heart is full.
I speak the truth.
I see what I need to see.
I am connected to Spirit.

Now moving down the chakras, continue.

I am always protected.
I see beyond what is.
I speak with integrity.
My heart directs me.
I am healthy and strong.
My creative juices flow.
I am a powerful being.

Now back up the chakras:

I reclaim my power.
I can create what I want.
My life is full.
My heart compassionate.
I speak with love.
I see ALL.
I connect to God.

Now back down the chakras:

I am part of God.
I see what I need to see.
I speak honestly.
My heart radiates love.
My energy is strong.
I am creative.
I connect with my power.

Now once more back up:

I am part of the ALL.
I have joy in my life.
The universe supports me.
My heart radiates love.
I speak words of kindness.
I open my eyes.
I walk with Spirit.

Now back down the chakras:

I am at peace.
My mind's eye is open.
I speak kindly.
I attract love.
I feel energized.
I am happy.
I feel renewed.

And end with:

I AM.
I AM.
I AM.
